Description
Picture thanks to Jelitto seeds
This is an excellent mix of oriental poppies. Colours range from white through buff, orange, pink, salmon and red. They are easily grown from seed and make an excellent plant for the garden, as well as being a good cut flower. The stems will grow to about 80cm high, in colder area of New Zealand, with shorter flowers in warmer areas.
Sowing advice
The seeds are best sown autumn or spring
Sow in cell pots or trays in moist well drained seed raising mix, or direct where they are to grow
Sow onto the surface of cell pots or trays. Press into soil, but not cover with soil. Keep at 20 deg. C. Seeds should germinate in 2-3 weeks. This plant resents root disturbance. Small amounts of seeds sown in cell pots make transplanting easier. Be careful not to disturb roots too much when pricking out seedlings from trays.
