This is a very dark red scabiosa which has unusual very bright blue anthers above the dark wine red petals. The stems are long and strong and make excellent cut flowers. Its a pretty plant for the garden and flowers well over the summer.

Sowing advice

Sow in Spring and Summer in seed trays or pots
Sow into a moist well-drained seed compost. Cover very thinly as the seeds need light to germinate. Propagate at 18 -23 deg C. Germination takes 5-14 days. Transplant seedlings once large enough at 35-40 cm apart after danger of frost has passed.
