Description

Picture thanks to www.wildgardenseed.com

This is a completely new and different  scabiosa.  It is  fresh from the experimental beds of  this well known US breeder.  You will get a mixture of flowers in  dark red , black, garnet, raspberry, lavender, and red which will have  lacy white fringes adorning the petals.   If you are very lucky you may get flowers with pink fringes in these colours, and some rare examples of lavender flowers with raspberry picotee, and white with red picotee. These are exceptionally beautiful and completely new. Because these seeds are the first in this experimental range, you will almost surely get plants with flowers which have no picotee edges at all and are solid colours .  But thats the joy of growing flowers, especially when there’s a chance that you may get something unique and beautiful!

Sowing advice

Sow in Spring and Summer. Sow in seed trays or pots.  Sow indoors into a moist well-drained seed compost. Cover very thinly as the seeds need light to germinate. Propagate at 18 -23 deg C. Germination takes 5-14 days. Transplant seedlings once large enough at 35-40 cm apart after danger of frost has passed.
