This is a dierama not often seen on the market. It has compact clumps of long thin mid green leaves, from which emerge long stems of deep pink flared flowers. The flowers are very large in proportion to the plant, and hang in abundant arches from the long stems. It makes a spectacular specimen plant and is very attractive near water .
Sowing advice
Sow at any time of the year in seed trays or pots. Cover with soil to a depth of 5mm. Place outside or in a propagator between 15 and 20 deg C. Germination takes between 1 and 3 months. Grow on individual grass like seedlings in small pots. Keep frost free and moist the first winter as dieramas are essentially evergreen plants and must not be dried out. Plant out young plants the following spring. Dieramas pollinate easily with other species and varieties. These seeds may produce some flower colours differing from the parent plants
