This is an outstanding and easily grown plant for the shady border. It is a very beautiful small foliage plant, whose leaves catch the early morning dew and rain and capture the drops in their cupped leaves keeping them hanging like sparkling diamond drops. This selection has strong stems and very uniform foliage and is bred to be a more upright form of alchemilla. It has large clusters of many tiny chartreuse green flowers which are held above the leaves, in sprays . Both leaves and flowers can be used in flower arrangements. Can be grown in pots.
Sowing advice
Sow in late winter and spring in trays or pots containing free draining , moist but not wet, seed raising mix. Cover seed lightly with mix. Seal in a plastic bag and keep at 18 to 22°C. for 4 weeks. If any seeds have germinated remove and pot them up. Then move the ungerminated seeds to 4 degrees C for 6 weeks ( put in the fridge if your temperatures are not cold enough). Then move to 5 to 12 degrees C. Transplant when large enough to handle into 7.5cm pots and grow on . Acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions before planting out into ordinary garden soil in full sun 38cm apart.
