Description
This unusual scabious is prized for its papery parchment like seedheads. The flowers are small and pale blue, but they transform into marvellous, striking round balls filled with geometrical shapes which make extremely good cut flowers. They look for all the world like bunches of cream parchment paper flowers when they are dried.
Sowing advice
Sow in spring and sunmmer.Sow onto moist seed raising mix in pots or trays.Barely cover the seeds as light is needed for germination. Keep seeds moist at about 18-20 deg C. Germination occurs in about 10 – 12 days. Transpnat when the first true leave appear. Transplant when risk of frost has passed.
