This lovely old annual phlox has dense florets of deep  rose flowers with a dark centre. It has large flower heads produced abundantly throughout summer. It  makes an  excellent cut flower and a pretty  garden filler.

Sowing advice

Sow in spring and early summer onto moist well-drained seed raising mix. Cover with mix about 2 mm deep. Propagate at 18-20°C. Germination takes about 10-21 days. Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Pinch out growing points when the plant is 8cm tall to encourage a bushy habit. Plant out as the weather warms with 25cm spacing
