Papaver ‘Haremstraum’ picture thanks to http://www.hazzardsgreenhouse.com
Papaver ‘Haremstraum’ is a mix of new oriental poppy hybrids which gardeners love. The colours range from white , cream and buff shades through pink, red and orange. They have strong stems which allow them to stand up well in the garden in all weathers. You can pick them as they make excellent cut flowers.
They like colder climates, performing well in the South Island and central parts of the north Island. Although they will also grow and flower for you in the warmer areas, the flower stems will be shorter. Haremstraum will form a long lasting clump of leaves, and they will commence flowering in the spring for you . Being a perennial , they are an easy care plant . They will reward you each year with their beautiful, delicate , crepe paper blooms which look so soft and frangible that you are left in wonder at their tenacity .

Sowing advice
Best sown autumn or spring. Sow onto the surface of cell pots or trays. Press into soil, but not cover with soil . Light is required for germination. Keep at 20 deg. C. Seeds should germinate in 2-3 weeks. It resents root disturbance. Small amounts of seeds sown in cell pots make transplanting easier.
