This annual plant has bright rosy lavender flowers in whorls which have nice straight ,thin strong stems. It makes a very unusual and easy-to-use cut flower, which works well with most colours. It can be grown in containers, but ensure that the pot is large enough to allow roots to spread.
The blooms and leaves are edible, though the leaves have a strong spicy flavour, so use them with care . Its other common names are lemon bee balm, purple horsemint, and lemon mint.
