This is a tall attractive ornamental grass with an open habit which has very slender arching branches which bear very airy delicate flowers in summer. The stems are a bluish green. It makes an excellent large specimen container plant .The plant is attractive in all of the seasons and works well in a naturalised setting as well as in a border where its clumps of slightly weeping stems will combine well with any perennial.
Sowing advice
Can be sown at any time. Sow in seed trays or pots or cell packs 1 large seed to a cell. Sow into moist well-drained seed mix, cover very finely with mix as light aids germination. Seal the seed in a plastic bag to conserve moisture, and keep them at about 18-20 deg C for 4 weeks. Then place them in the fridge for about 4 weeks. Bring them out to about 15°C . Germination should occur in about 2-4 weeks, but can be irregular. Transplant when large enough to handle in a small clump into large pots. Grow on at about 15°C .Can also be sown into pots and left outside over winter for spring germination.
