This is a tall attractive ornamental grass with an open habit which has very slender arching branches which bear very airy delicate flowers in summer. The stems start off green , then change to a purple-brown before finally turning golden in the summer and autumn. It makes an excellent large specimen container plant .The plant is attractive in all of the seasons and works well in a naturalised setting as well as in a border where its clumps of slightly weeping stems will combine well with any perennial.
