Description
Leucocoryne purpurea picture thanks to https://www.chileflora.com
Leucocoryne purpurea is one of the very beautiful leucocorynes. It has lovely purple flowers which have the fragrance of almonds. It is not very often seen in the garden , so you will have a flower which not many others know about . It grows during the winter , flowering in the early spring and dying down over the summer. It likes a cool moist growing period , in full sun , with ideal temps of 4-12 deg C, and hot dry summers, so it will grow well in southern areas of New Zealand. It makes a long lasting and excellent cut flower, and looks great in the garden.
