Description
This shasta daisy has very finely cut petals which appear like a fringe around a yellow centre. they can be double or semi double and are long lasting. they make a good cut flower, and are indispensible in the summer border, being easy to grow from seed and flowering for a long time. It makes an excellent container plant. It likes full sun but can tolerate light shade.
Sowing advice
Sow in spring and autumn. Sow in trays or pots.Sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with soil or vermiculite, light is needed for germination. Ideal temperature 13-16°C. Germination takes 21-28 days. If germination does not occur cold stratify. Move to 4°C (fridge door or vege compartment) for 2-4 weeks then return to warmth. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed with 45cm spacing
