Description
This shasta daisy has very finely cut petals which appear like a fringe around a yellow centre. they can be double or semi double and are long lasting. they make a good cut flower, and are indispensible in the summer border, being easy to grow from seed and flowering for a long time. It makes an excellent container plant.
Sowing advice
Sow in spring and autumn. Sow in trays or pots.Sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with soil or vermiculite, light is needed for germination. Ideal temperature 13-16°C. Germination takes 21-28 days. If germination does not occur cold stratify. Move to 4°C (fridge door or vege compartment) for 2-4 weeks then return to warmth. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed with 45cm spacing
