Description
Dianthus ‘Chabaud Jeanne Dionis’ is a pure white scented carnation which has lovely frilly white flowers on sturdy grey stems. It was bred for the cut flower market, and so has all of the qualities required for a cut flower, but it also is equally at home in the garden where its aromatic clove scented flowers will be borne all summer with the minimum of fuss.
Sowing advice
Sow in spring and autumn.Sow in pots or trays.
Cover very lightly with seed mix, as light aids germination. Keep moist but not wet and at approx 20 deg C. Germination takes 2-3 weeks. Pot into approx 8cm pots when the seedlings are large enough to handle and then transplant outside when they have grown to about 20 cm height and there is no danger of frost.
