Coreopsis ‘American Dream’ is a flowering perennial plant which produces very showy deep pink 4 cm flowers in both summer and autumn. It has dense bushy grass like dark green leaves. It doesn’t tolerate dry soils, and doesn’t much like a situation which is too hot. It can be used as a ground cover , and if the placement suits it , it can spread quite strongly. It likes full sun and a moist well drained soil.
Sowing advice
Sow in spring in trays or pots. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Lightly cover seed with soil. Propagate 20-25°C. Germination takes 21-30 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed with 50cm spacing
