This plant has white which are star-shaped.Can tolerate more moisture than most other bulbous plants.

This plant Will produce a small amount of progeny if it is sited in a wet spring site with at least a half day of sunshine. It occurs in wet to moist meadows and ditches in when in its native situation . It makes an excellent cut flower, which is in its element in rain gardens, at the pond edge, and in the seasonal bog. It likes fertile acidic soil

Sowing guidance

Sow seed thinly 1mm deep into moist, well-drained seed compost. Ideal temp. 4-15°C. Be patient as they have their own agenda and often will only germinate in the spring after chilling or freezing in the moist seed tray in the winter. Germination takes 1-6 months.
