Asphodeline lutea has handsome spikes of unusual spear shaped , fragrant  yellow flowers which rise well above the foliage to create a striking display in the garden. The strap like foliage is a blue green colour, and the flower makes a good cut flower . It is  attractive to bees and other pollinating insects. Asphodeline is an evergreen, clumping plant which is tolerant of most soils and can be used in dry places.
