This is an easily grown plant whose hooded white flowers are beloved all beneficial insects. It is a good subject for natural landscaping where its aromatic foliage and its flowers which are a magnet  to bees , sits easily in a natural garden. It is a plant which requires very low maintenance, and it is used traditionally for scent , tea and medical applications. It does well in a container as it is quite hardy , give it plenty of room. It flowers the first year from seed about 4 months after germination.

Sowing advice

Seeds can be sown  spring or summer. Sow the seeds on the surface of moist seed compost in pots or trays.
Press seeds lightly into the soil but do not cover. Light is needed for germination. Propagate 18-20°C. Germination should happen in 30-90 days, but can be irregular and take up to 90 days. Water only from the base. Once seedlings  are large enough to handle transplant to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out after any danger of frost has passed
