These zinnias have very attractive peach orange blooms with cream and rose detailing which gives the flowers a peach colouring, with each producing a strong central crest. They are an excellent cut flower and will add height and interest to the middle of the border, and will bloom right through summer for you. They grow very well in the heat of the summer and towards the end of summer will still be making a show for you if you give them a good soil and moderate water.
Sowing advice
Sow outdoors in spring and summer when the soil is warming up. Sow indoors Sep-Oct. Zinnia like a sunny, sheltered position and don’t like to be moved. We sow them in pots or trays into moist seed raising mix at temp. 15-25°C., cover seed with 3mm of mix, and then move them to cell pots when they have 2 leaves. Some growers advocate sowing them direct to their final growing position, but we find the slugs and snails massacre them just as they germinate when sown by this method.
Germination takes 7-14 days. Plant out the cell pots after about 3 weeks.
