This is a mixture of all of the highly mildew resistant Oklahoma series zinnias. These are tall vigorous and healthy, and produce great cut flowers which have a long vase life. They also make a magnificent garden display, lasting into early winter ( for the northern part of the North Island). The flowers are approx 7cm rounded, mostly fully double blooms in magenta, red, yellow, pink , salmon and white on long strong stems and they are very easy to grow. Highly recommended.
Sowing advice
Sow outdoors in spring and summer when the soil is warming up. Sow indoors Sep-Oct. Zinnia like a sunny, sheltered position and don’t like to be moved. We sow them in pots or trays into moist seed raising mix at temp. 15-25°C., cover seed with 3mm of mix, and then move them to cell pots when they have 2 leaves. Some growers advocate sowing them direct to their final growing position, but we find the slugs and snails massacre them just as they germinate when sown by this method.
Germination takes 7-14 days. Plant out the cell pots after about 3 weeks.
