Veronicastrum sibiricum is a tall handsome plant which is best at the back of a border where it produces tall spires of tiny flowers which provide a statuesque and architectural quality to the border. The flowers are blue with a pink tinge. The leaves have serrated edges and are produced in whorls, which are very attractive . The flowers are excellent for cutting. The plant will grow in full sun to partial shade .
It is an easy plant to grow so long as the soil is not too dry.
Sowing advice
Sow late winter to early spring
Take care! : these seeds are very fine and small. Sow the seeds in trays or pots onto moist seed raising mix. Do not cover the seeds, but lightly press them into the mix. Keep the seed constantly moist (not wet) with temperatures of about 20°C . Keep them in cooler conditions after germination occurs. They should germinate in about 21-28 days.
