This is a pure white scabiosa, which flowers its heart out in the summer months, covering itself in a cloak of white blooms. It is extremely attractive to butterflies and bees which often sleep on the flowers overnight . The flowers seem to float in the dark on a summers evening because of their clear white colour. The seeds are very easy to grow and the flowers are very good for cutting lasting well in a vase.
Sowing advice
Sow in Spring and Summer. Sow in seed trays or pots. Sow indoors into a moist well-drained seed compost. Cover very thinly as the seeds need light to germinate. Propagate at 18 -23 deg C. Germination takes 5-14 days. Transplant seedlings once large enough at 35-40 cm apart after danger of frost has passed.
