This burgundy coloured rudbeckia , selected out of the  Rudbeckia ‘Sahara’ mix , has longer stems  than Rudbeckia Cherry brandy the original red rudbeckia,  (to about 80 cm ) which makes it perfect for cutting. It is also a more vigorous form of rudbeckia  than Cherry Brandy . The petals are double or semi double in shades of maroon cranberry mulberry and oxblood.  A brilliant new introduction

Sowing advice

Sow indoors late winter and spring and outdoors in spring. Sow in trays or pots or direct.
Sow seed onto moist well-drained seed mix. Just cover with a fine sprinkle of seed mix, as light is required for germination. Propagate 20°C. Keep soil moist but not wet. Germination takes 10-15 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Grow on in slightly cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed with 45cm spacing.
