This is a compact short lived perennial, commonly grown as an annual. It has plume shaped flowers which range from pink to light purple. Flower spikes are usually about 50cm long. It flowers in winter through to early summer, and makes an excellent cut flower lasting for a long time in a vase. This plant needs very good drainage to prosper, and thus it makes an excellent plant for a pot .
Sowing advice
Sow in spring and summer in trays or pots
Sow onto the surface of moist seed raising mix . Don’t cover or cover very thinly, as they need light to germinate.
Germination takes 7-14days at about 24-27 °C. Transplant when large enough.
