This handsome candelabra type primula has red flowers and grows naturally along stream banks in its native South wWstern China. It likes moist situations and will not tolerate lime based soil.
Sowing advice
Sow in summer and autum. Sow in pots or trays. Sow onto moist seed raising mix. Do not cover as light is needed for germination. Water from the bottom of pots to avoid disturbing the seed. Keep moist but not waterlogged. Ideal temp18- 20 deg C. If germoination does not occur wirhin 4 weeks, enclose the tray in a sealed plastic bag and putinto the fridge for 4 weeks. After this remove the plastic and bring out to the warmth. Keep moist.
