Description
This lovely annual phlox has very pretty colour combinations of dusky-pink, creams and peachy shades.Phlox is one of the favourite summer bedding annuals, which have large, clustered masses of heads throughout the summer and into autumn. It is also good for cutting.
This plant needs a rich , well-drained soil,, so add compost if required, and water it well, and deadhead it to encourage further blooms. If you fertilise Phlox Drummondii once in spring and once in summer, it will reward you with abundant blooms.
Sowing advice
Sow indoors in seed trays or pots in spring and outdoors in early summer ,15mm deep into moist well-drained seed raising mix. Cover lightly with seed raising mix . Propagate at 13-15°C. Germination takes 10-21 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Pinch out growing points when the plant is 8cm tall to encourage a bushy habit. Plant out as the weather warms with 25cm spacing. Can be sown where they are to flower in early summer.
