This nigella has striking flowers with black stamens which stand well above the shining white petals. It is a lovely addition to bouquets and lasts well. An added bonus is the seed heads which are attractive dried.

Sowing advice
Plants are sensitive to root disturbance so it is best to sow directly into the place that they are to grow — If you want to sow them in pots take care to transplant them as soon as they can be handled to avoid too much disturbance. Outdoors: Sow in early spring when soil temperatures reach 16°C. Indoors : Sow 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Also can be sown in autumn where winters are mild. Cover lightly with soil and keep moist .
