This very beautiful mallow flowers for a long period over summer time and into autumn. It bears pretty soft pink flowers which are saucer shaped and about 6cm across. They have a sweet musk scent, which bees and butterflies love. The leaves are lobed and are aromatic. It is a short lived perennial, which grows to about 50cm tall and forms a nice bushy plant. It makes a very good cut flower.
Sowing advice
Sow in autumn or spring. Sow the seeds on the surface of moist seed raising mix. Cover them very lightly with mix as light aids germination. Keep them moist at about 20 -22 deg C. Seeds will germinate in 14-28 days. pot them up into individual pots as soon as they are large enough. If you planted them in autumn , keep them somewhere sheltered during the winter and plant them out in spring.
