Hibiscus moscheutos-hybr ‘Disco Belle Mixed’ seeds -(Rose mallow, Hardy Hibiscus)

This pretty hibiscus has very attractive dinner plate sized flowers in reds, pinks and whites.  The flowers usually have a central eye of dark red. If they are planted early enough in the season they can flower in the first year. The plant tolerates heat and humidity well, so long as the soil retains some moisture.

This variety is a more compact growing hibiscus than some, growing to about 60cm . It can  look spectacular in a large pot , but must be kept watered.

Sowing advice

Sow the seeds onto moist seed raising or potting mix, in pots or trays .  Cover them thinly with mix.  Keep them moist at about 20 degC .  They should begin to germinate in about 5 days. Pot them on when they have reached a manageable size to handle.
