This plant has flowers which are brilliant fire- red when they first come out, aging to orange- red and then finally to bronze. It has dark red to purple/black stems and leaves, which make it a very attractive bush even when  it is not out in flower.  But the flowers are offset magically by the dark foliage attracting the eye, and making it a handsome garden plant.  It flowers in its first year from seed, and is a reliable solid performer. It is a good cut flower.
