Description
Helichrysum ‘Summer Rainbow Mix’ is a mix of cultivated varieties of Helichrysum . The plants range from hot reds and golds through shades of magenta, lavender, pink, rose , salmon and white. The plants are about 75 cm high, and are excellent for cutting and drying, as well as being great value in the garden, where they seem to flower right up to the first frost, and if you don’t get frost then its a bonus because some flower right through winter!
Sowing advice
Sow indoors June- September. Sow in trays or pots
Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed raising mix. Cover with a sprinkling of soil only as light is needed for germination. Ideal temp. 22-24°C. Germination takes 7-15 days. Once seedlings are large enough to handle transplant to 8cm pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed with 30cm spacing.
