Description

Picture thanks to Hello Hello Plants  https://www.thetutuguru.com.au

This plant has lovely  large tresses of pink pea shaped flowers in abundance in early spring . This is the bush form of H. violacea rosea.   It is  a less vigorous climbing plant than other forms of hardenbergia , and will form a small upright shrub, rather than a climber or ground cover. It  does well in most soils and climates, and can cope with light frosts, and does not overrun its position.

Sowing advice

Put the seeds into hot water which has just been boiled and soak them for 12 hours. If the seeds are not plump after the soaking, re-soak them. Sow the plump seeds onto moist seed raising mix and cover to the depth of the seed. Keep them moist at about 18-22 deg C.  They should germinate in about 10-20 days. If they don’t germinate, don’t be too hasty to discard them as they often don’t germinate until conditions are right.
