Description

This is a very tough little plant which takes very little care and withstands the heat of summer well where other plants wither and die. It will also cope with humid conditions and doesn’t seem to be  too bothered by insects .

It has unusual, neon-lit rosy purple red coloured flowers which look like a clover but are papery and with their approx 60cm long stems they  make an excellent cut flower.

This plant was awarded a Fleuroselect award and was the 1999 dried flower of the year. It makes a pretty container plant

Sowing advice

Soak the seeds for a few hours in hot water before sowing. Sow in pots or trays 6-8 weeks before planting out, or sow direct where they are to grow after the last frost. Cover lightly with seed raising mix. They need darkness to germinate. Keep at 18 – 22 degrees C. The seeds will germinate in 14 -21 days
