Description

This attractive little plant will put on a great show of scarlet cigar shaped flowers  above its dark green shiny leaves, over all of summer  well into autumn. It can be used as a ground cover, and will gently self seed for you if it likes the position it is growing in .It also looks good in a container . Though technically a perennial, it will perform as an annual in frosty areas.

Sowing advice

Sow in pots or trays in good seed raising mix.  Dont cover the seeds as light assists germination. Keep them moist but don’t waterlog them, and take care not to drive them under the soil when top watering. Ideal temperature is 20 degC.  They should germinate in 10- 15 days.
