This beautful plant produces trusses of pretty flowers in  rose,  light violet blue and white shades for all of summer and if you cut it back it will bloom again for you in autumn in northern areas. It is very easy to grow, and requires very little care . It  will reward you for its place in your garden with beauty for all of summer and autumn. Campanula lactiflora  grows naturally in partial shade , on the borders of woodland areas in its native Turkey, but will do well  also in full sun where the soil retains some moisture, in any part of New Zealand. The flowers are good for cutting .

Sowing advice

Seeds can be sown at any time but are best sown in winter or early spring . Take care, seeds are tiny!
Sow in trays or pots. Press the seeds into the soil lightly. Don’t cover as light is needed for germination. Keep at 20 deg C. If the seeds do not come up within 6 to 12 weeks , seal the damp seed tray in a plastic bag and place in a fridge for about 4 weeks. They may still take very many months to appear, so do not discard the pot or tray.
