This small plant has dark blue to violet bell shaped flowers on stems to about 30cm. It is a vigorous grower and can be used as a ground cover, as it forms a good bushy mat of leaves. It likes full sun, but will tolerate partial shade, and does very well in raised borders where its flowers can be shown off to advantage
Sowing advice
Sow the seeds in late autumn , winter or early spring, on the surface of moist seed raising mix in trays or pots. Don’t cover them as light aids germination.Keep them at about 20 deg C and keep the mix moist ( but not waterlogged) watering from the bottom of the pot or using a mister to availd driving the seeds down into the soil. They should appear in about 2-4 weeks. If they don’t germinate , cover the pot with a clear film and put into the fridge for about 3 weeks.
