Aquilegia vulgaris ‘Winky Double Rose-White’


A very pretty aquilegia which bears double frilled rose and white upward facing flowers.


This very appealing  plant produces numerous upward facing flowers, which are held just above a mound of lacy fern like leaves. The flowers have an outer rim of darker rose petals and the double ruffled centres are rose pink and white. It blooms in late spring and early  summer.

It likes full sun but  will tolerate partial shade.

Sowing advice

Sow in late spring and early summer. Sow in trays or pots. Cover the seeds very lightly with seed raising mix and keep moist.  Propagate at 10 deg C for 2 weeks and then 23 deg C for  3 weeks. Keep in cooler conditions at 14- 18 deg C after germination occurs.
