Description
Alcea ‘Jet Black’ picture thanks to http://www.jelitto.com
This hollyhock has the deepest dark maroon red flowers which appear almost black in colour. Alcea ‘Jet Black’ is an old- fashioned plant , dating back to the 17 century. It has been very popular with gardeners through the years. This alcea performs well in most situations, and its tall nearly black single flowers are produced each year, benefiting the garden design with its structural properties. The plant dies down in winter, to a small rosette in warm temperatures and in cold ones will lose its leaves entirely. It will re-emerge in spring , and the flowers will take your breath away, they are so beautiful. Plant them along paths to provide a nice outline and fences to show off their beauty .
See our other alceas here. https://www.owairakaseeds.co.nz/?s=alcea&post_type=product .
All of them are beautiful producing their statuesque, lovely flowers over spring and summer. They will lighten your heart with their display.
