This is considered to be one of the best late summer and autumn flowering plants. It has very attractive tall branching flower stems which bear many beautiful, hooded, dark blue flowers. It has a sturdy habit and can be planted in pots . It has been awarded the Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society.

Note : All parts of this plant, including the roots are poisonous : wear gloves to handle plant as the toxin may be absorbed through the skin.
