This plant has sweetly scented large 8 – 15 cm white flowers which open in the evening and close at the first rays of daybreak. It is perfect for providing an exotic fragrance  around your evening outdoor living area,where it will beguile visitors with its sweet fragrance in the cool of the evening.   Although the flowers are ephemeral, they are produced abundantly from midsummer to autumn, and the heart shaped leaves are also attractive. This plant performs as a perennial in mild areas , where its foliage can be used to hide unsightly areas. It is a fast growing climber reaching 3-4 metres in a season. In colder regions the plant is used as an annual.
