This is the largest and most spectacular flowered of the yellow foxgloves. It is perennial and long lived. It thrives in partial shade and likes humous-rich well drained but moist soil. It has glossy green, veined leaves, whose flowering stem can reach a height of 70–120 cm (28–47 in). The pale yellow bell-shaped flowers are spaced out on the stem, 3–4 cm (1–2 in) long. The spikes of chocolate netted, large sulphur yellow flowers over rosettes of strongly veined leaves are considered to be amongst the best of the yellow flowered foxgloves. It is the holder of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
