This is a totally different larkspur from the normal larkspurs.

It is a very  attractive bushy annual plant which  produces  masses of pretty little violet-blue flowers all summer long, which are borne in clouds rather than spikes or clusters. They are  excellent as cut flowers  for use  in bouquets, and they can also be dried . Bees and butterflies love it .

It is an easy to grow wildflower

Note: All plant parts are poisonous in large doses, especially the seeds.

Sowing advice

Seedlings do not transplant well, so it is best sown directly in spring outside into prepared soil, or you can plant in cell pots. The fine seeds should germinate on the surface of soil.  14-21 days for germination. You may plant in a greenhouse, late summer/autumn for the following year or in spring . If germination does not occur try cold stratification for 2 weeks. Move to -4-+4°C for 2-4 weeks then return to warmth. Heat is not required for germination, in fact high temperatures can cause dormancy.
