These plants have  60 cm stems with 15 cm velvety flowers shaped a little like cauliflowers. This range was selected for the cut flower market , but they are spectacular in the garden as well.  There is a mix of rich colours:  Carmine, Fire, Gold, Persimmon, Red, and  Rose. Flowers last for 3 weeks in a vase.

 

Sowing advice

Sow in late spring and early. summer, late summer and early autumn. Sow in trays or pots in moist seed raising mix. Cover seeds with just a sprinkling of mix as light is required for germination. water from the bottom of the pot. Cover the containers with clear plastic to keep the soil mix moist . Ideal temp 23 deg C . Germination takes 1-3 weeks.
When the seedlings germinate, remove the plastic covers and place in a warm spot. Keep the soil moist but not soggy.
Grow on at 19 deg C.
