This New Zealand native is an attractive copper-bronze tussock grass, which is used for natural landscaping, and also for ornamental planting. It is a hardy plant, growing almost anywhere. It grows in clumps whose slender leaves shimmer slightly in the breeze. It is naturally tidy in form, starting off with straight stemmed leaves and the older leaves produce a natural arching form in time, which is very attractive in the garden. It also grows well in containers and can be used with lighter foliage plants to form a contrast.
