Description
This is a lovely and prolifically flowering dwarf variety of columbine which is one of the smallest growing and most compact of the columbines. It has very large flowers. The colours range through white, pink, blue and yellow and the flowers are borne above a compact mound of greyish-green foliage. It blooms in spring and summer and is attractive to butterflies. It likes partial sun, in moist but well drained soil. It grows easily from seed.
Sowing advice
Sow in early spring, summer or autumn. Sow in trays or pots
Sow seeds onto a good seed raising mix. Cover the seeds with fine grit or compost thinly. They can be sown at any time. Keep evenly moist but not wet, at approx 20 degrees C. Germination can be irregular so don’t discard the pot prematurely.
